Cornea Testing Equipment

The Oculus Keratograph is an advanced corneal topographer with a built-in keratometer and a camera optimized for external imaging. Its unique features include examining the meibomian glands, non-invasive tear film break-up time and the tear meniscus height measurement and evaluating the lipid layer.
It is used for dry eyes assessment, detecting Keratoconus and for the fitting of complex Scleral, Hybrid and bespoke soft lenses.

Our corneal topographer takes 8,000 curvature points of your cornea (the clear covering on the front of the eye) and provides a detailed coloured map of the contour and shape of your corneas. This is important for fitting contact lenses as well as diagnosing corneal diseases. This examination is also essential for monitoring keratoconus eye disease and preparing forĀ laser vision correction since the laser reshapes the curvature of your corneas for clearer vision.

Our keratometer measures the curvature of the anterior surface of your cornea, particularly for assessing the extent and axis of astigmatism.
At City Eyes we use the handheld Pachmate ultrasound specialist pachymeter. It is light, patient friendly and gives very accurate measurements of the thickness of the cornea in seconds.
This is useful in the diagnosis, treatment and follow up of glaucoma and other eye conditions. It is also very useful in pre-laser surgery and in post-surgery follow ups.
