• Wear your spectacles every time you
drive – even if its just a short distance
• Keep a spare pair in the glovebox in case you forget or break
them
• Check with us that you have the best possible lenses for driving
conditions
• The tint of non prescriptive sunglasses can make your vision
worse than not wearing your spectacles at all
• Never use tinted glasses or sunglasses at night or in poor
visibility
• Make sure your lenses - and the windscreen - are both clean
• Remember that your sight can be affected by prescribed drugs
and alcohol – even if you are below the legal limit
• In the dark don’t look too long at an oncoming headlight
as it can take time for your eyes to recover. Look slightly to the
left of on-coming vehicles
• Make sure you have your eyesight tested regularly and tell
us how much driving you do – especially if you are over 50 years
old.
