Viral conjunctivitis

Bacterial conjunctivitis
· Stringy discharge that may cause the lids to stick together, especially after sleeping
· Swelling of the conjunctiva
· Redness
· Tearing
· Irritation and/or a gritty feeling
· Usually affects only one eye, but may spread easily to the fellow eye
